The 13th edition of the prestigious Headies took place on Oct 19 at the Eko convention centre, Lagos. The annual award show which is regarded as the “Grammies of Nigeria” had many music stars in attendance and of course, some cool fashion moments on the red carpet.

This time, we are taking a rundown through the fashion looks we found interesting and “interesting” in this very context may not exactly translate to ‘Best Dressed’ but the ones we thought were eye catching in mostly a good way.

Nancy Isime

No surprise, she is a fashion princess. Nancy wowed in this black ruffled tulle dress with a structured skirt. It was high fashion, it was bold and we totally loved it plus the full skirt could be detached to create a short outfit, brilliant!

Ikechukwu Onyema

Ikechukwu who was a contestant at the recently concluded Big Brother Naija reality show gave us a dapper look that was worth all the stare. Onyema was stylish wearing this black suit layered with a trendy white leather, buckle harness.

Mercy Eke

Winner of this year’s Big Brother Naija reality show, Mercy Eke has proven to be a fashionista, easily sliding in and out of a variety of looks like a typical fashion chameleon. For the night, Eke dazzled in the black sequined fitted dress that featured edgy padded shoulders and a sexy torso-revealing cut-out.

Dr. Sid

We’ve seen tons of agbadas but Dr. Sid’s outfit needs a second look. The singer wore this sequined agbada that sparkled all night, we had to put Ebuka Uchendu on hold.

Pretty Mike

Socialite and controversial personality showed up in an Eyo-inspired outfit. The Eyo is the traditional masquerade that is seen in a major Lagos festival clad in all-white cultural attire. Pretty Mike transformed that concept into a modern stylish outfit. We love the embroidered suit, we love the hat but we don’t understand the origin of the train but it did give off some ‘Billy Porter” vibes which made the outfit even more interesting. Believe it or not, Mike’s unlikely outfit contributed to the Headies trending on social media.
