We are quite conversant about how young people are somewhat required by society to have made certain accomplishments by certain age limits. Ages 25 and 30 particularly, have been attached with some “compulsory” goals to have been ticked off from your to-do list. Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, Samuel Uduma took to social media to express his thoughts on societal expectations for young people.
“I find it very funny how society has made young people to believe that you need to have figured out this thing called life by age 30” Samuel expressed.
The business owner who runs an urban men’s wear brand beckoned on youths not to fall for such societal pressures. “Dear young man/woman, don’t fall for this societal pressure. Allow yourselves sometime to try, fail, be confused, frustrated and try again until you figure YOUR own life out at YOUR own time.
A commenter who believes the 30-years age isn’t enough for an individual to entirely figure themselves said: “Not enough bro but society won’t let us rest and if you’re not strong enough, you will fall for them.”
Do you think 30 years of age is enough time to have figured out life?
