I start this new year and this new decade by thanking everyone who has worked with us on this platform in the past six months since our re-launch, including our growing readers whom we serve with our curated contents. Last year, we published editorials on several amazing Nigerian talents in our cover features, each one inspiring us in their unique way.
Ushering us into 2020 is Nollywood’s breakout star of 2019, Jide-Kene Achufusi whom through his consistency in the entertainment industry found breakthrough in Ramsey Noauh’s directorial debut remake of the 1990s hit film, Living in Bondage.
(I’m publishing this very article watching the fireworks go up in the air and the endless crackling sounds)
For some reason, I’m not particularly pointing at “new year’s resolutions” but I’m moved to leave you with two points for this new year.
You have to visualize your future and clearly state where you want to go or who you want to be. Gather every detail you know can lead you to your destination. Strategizing is all about detailed planning. This vision which is a goal would require a network of goals that link up to take you to your desired end.
Strategies will remain mere planning if you don’t work on each and every step in the process. Make sure all your actions are yielding impacts, no matter how little. Every day, do something that leads you to your ultimate goal. Imagine building a fence, if you lay just one brick everyday, you would eventually complete erecting the fence one day.
(It’s past 12am and the calls and messages are starting to come in)
I wish you the very best in 2020. Till I write you again in the second quarter, start strong!
