You wonder why marriages don’t last in Africa, or quickly become “war rooms”.
It’s rooted in the idea that sex outside marriage: adultery, fornication, masturbation and other sexual desires are demonic.
Being spiritual and righteous is to not have sexual desires.
I was not going to write about this but I saw a post that captured my thoughts about Pastor Adeboye’s tweet on infidelity.
So a man found out he was always eager to leave home and go meet his secretary at work. This was definitely a problem. Should the secretary then be labelled as a devil and wrecker of homes?
Well, Pastor Adeboye asked that the man fire his secretary and advises that anyone you have “crushes” on asides your spouse is a demon.
Why didn’t anyone consider that the wife may be making his life miserable at home or he is just a man that doesn’t enjoy the company of his family. There are actually men of God that have no idea how to interact with people who don’t have to worship and adore them.
People will have erections, demon or no demon.
I heard someone say your sexuality is meant to be “activated” in the confines of marriage. How then do you explain wet dreams? How do you explain virgins that have erections? Sometimes I think life would have been easier for religion if sexual urges were only activated when you are married and with your spouse. Yet, this is not happening! Not in this life.
We preach and teach about sex and sexuality like it is a light switch that demons play with. They can be toying with your destiny like how NEPA plays with electricity in naija.
The moment you have sexual thoughts or feelings, there’s a demon involved.
These kind of teachings are quite dangerous because then people fornicate, refuse to take responsibility for their sexual urges, then blame the other person as an agent of the devil.
Now imagine a man who has had to classify every girl that made a move at him as a demon, how do you expect him to suddenly change after so many years? You think marriage will make a man of 20+ years to suddenly discard the idea that anyone who loves to have sex with him is demonic?
This is how we get Pastors who only have sex when they want, not to satisfy the wife who is a potential “demon”.
Then every time something goes wrong in ministry, Pastor starts to look at his wife and children somehow because after all, only Man of God’s destiny is intact, and the devil wants to use his wife or children to attack it. The wife and children never have destinies or their destinies only activate when man of God dies or allows it?
Despite all these demonizing of women, we still have cases of scandals running around like creche babies in churches.
People need to just take responsibility for their erections.
