In March 2020, a new corona virus has spread to major cities across the world causing great fear and panicking. Social gatherings of over a hundred persons have been temporarily banned in the virus-stricken countries to minimize possible and further spread and thus, major events have either been postponed or cancelled until further notice.
At this year’s Amstel Malta Viewers’ Choice Awards, which held at the Eko convention centre of Lagos state last night, former Big Brother Naija contestant, Omashola Oburoh showed up in a full-on attire designed to “create” awareness for the deadly viral disease.
Make it Fashion!
His outfit which was designed by Tiannah of Tiannah Place Empire was made out of pink and grey sequined fabric made into a suit, had protruding human skulls coming out of it. He matched his suit with a face mask of same sequin.
His face mask signified what has been known to be the go-to protection from the flu-virus, preventing contaminated air and fluids getting into one’s lungs via the mouth and/or nose. His outfit’s skulls may very well signify the deadliness of the COVID-19 virus and the thousands of people who have already died worldwide since its sudden outbreak early this year.
“Fashion can be a protest,” he said. “Let’s join hands to fight COVID-19,” the reality star admonished.
